Division II power

The dual meet schedule seems a little light early in the week.
No Monday duals and just a handful of dual meets today.
I have to tell you I was very impressed by Napoleon at Saturday’s Findlay Duals.
There’s no doubt in my mind put a group of Division II all-stars together from the Northwest District together and they would hand a similar group of Division I all-stars from the Northwest District their lunch.
Napoleon, Clyde, Perkins, Bellevue, Oak Harbor and of course heavyweights Eastwood and Willard. Man, oh man, is Division II tough in the NW District.
Not sure who the best team in the NW District even is in Division I. Hell, Division III Delta won the Springfield Duals last weekend. There’s a long way to go before the NW District Division I schools are competitive with the rest of the state. Wrestling with the NE in the Mentor/Waite District doesn’t help many of the best of the NW get chewed up in the meatgrinder. It’s a big hurdle to overcome and I know kids and coaches working hard to do just that.
Hopefully the Division I schools will catch up and get the respect around the state the at the NW District’s Division II and III teams and wrestlers already enjoy.
