Findlay vs. Ashland and league links

OK most everyone who reads this will be watching a high school tournament over the weekend.

But I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the University of Findlay makes their final home appearance of the season Saturday night against archrival Ashland University at Croy Gymnasium Saturday at 7 p.m.

There is no love lost between these programs. Believe me when I tell you that they don’t like one another. I know from first and second had experience on both sides.

The Roughnecks are a little short handed right now but there should still be some good matches.

Notes: Findlay has two individuals ranked nationally in their respective weight classes. Senior Andy Uhl, a former national champion and returning all-American, is ranked second in the 133 pound weight class while junior Antonio Guerra, a defending national champion and returning all-American, is ranked second at 157.

Ashland has four individuals ranked nationally in their respective weight classes. Josh Ohl is ranked fifth in the heavyweight division, Eric Lakia is ranked sixth at 165, Marcus Gordon is ranked sixth at 149 and Tony Iovine is ranked eighth at 141.

I wish I could be there for this one but I will be covering the OWL…damn!
