RIVERDALE WINS NCC TITLE

Six Riverdale wrestlers posted perfect records as the Falcons regained the North Central Conference championship by sweeping all three of its dual matches Friday night at Bucyrus.

The Falcons, who won the first NCC Tournament in 2005, edged defending champion Bucyrus 42-36 before whipping Ontario 42-15 and Buckeye Central 51-12.
Bucyrus was 2-1 with wins over Buckeye Central (39-18) and Ontario (35-24). The Bucks beat the Warriors 30-24 for third place.

Andrew Yeater (103), Luke Shearer (130), Cody Cavinder (135) and Chris Hepperly (145) led the way for Riverdale with 3-0 records in the lightweight classifications.
Andrew (152) and Justin Rodabaugh (160) and Cody Camper (171) also went 3-0 for the Falcons.

Other NCC individual champs included: Ontario’s Zach Wilson (189) and Brock Rickert (215) and Bucyrus’ Vincent Nickelso (112), Jake Leibengood (119), Adam Long (140) and Kody Charlton (285).

Went to this matchup, would love to see all schools have a wrestling team. still some good matches. Oh well, on to oak harbor......
